EXECUTIVE CHEF
Ramon Taimanglo

A graduate of Johnson and Wales, Chef Ramon Taimanglo began his career as Sous Chef under esteemed Chef Frank Lee at Slightly North of Broad in Charleston, S.C. Lee’s masterful preparation of farm-fresh Southern ingredients using French culinary techniques resonated with Taimanglo, who was born in Germany to a well-traveled military family and exposed to a spectrum of global cuisines throughout his youth.

Chef Taimanglo honed his skills as Executive Sous Chef under Chef Bob Kinkead, another luminary in the vanguard of New American cuisine, at Colvin Run Tavern in Washington D.C.

The opportunity to work again with Chef Lee arose, and Chef Taimanglo returned to Charleston as Executive Chef of High Cotton. He joined Peninsula Grill as Chef de Cuisine in 2014 and was appointed Co-Executive Chef in 2016.

“When I was a young cook, I came to Peninsula Grill and had an experience that profoundly shaped my dreams and career aspirations,” says Chef Taimanglo. “That one night was the very definition of exquisite dining with beautifully choreographed service, and it made me yearn to be a part of such a classic, refined, and beloved restaurant.”

 

CHEF DE CUISINE
Mark Bolchoz

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, Chef Mark Bolchoz studied wine in Southern Italy, perfected butchery in New Orleans, earned his first sous chef position under venerable Chef Gianni Scappin in the Hudson Valley of NY, and landed on Zagat’s 30 Under 30 List in 2016—a vibrant beginning to his young culinary career. He was recently promoted to Peninsula Grill’s Chef de Cuisine.

 

SOUS CHEF
Chelsea McClamroch

A native of Charleston, S.C., Chelsea McClamroch achieved national recognition as a member of Wando High School’s award-winning culinary team. In 2007, as a high school student, McClamroch landed a position in the kitchen at Peninsula Grill—a testament to her talent and determination. She balanced professional responsibilities with academics and earned a degree in hospitality tourism and business administration from the College of Charleston. Appointed Sous Chef in 2011, McClamroch is a rising star and highly respected member of the Peninsula Grill team.
